Recently, Li Bo, a student in School of Science, as the lead author, publishedDispersion and Steric Effects on Enantio-/Diastereoselectivities in Synergistic Dual Transition-Metal CatalysisJ. Am. Chem. Soc.2022, 144, 1971-1985)in top chemical journalJ. Am. Chem. Soc.

By quantum chemical calculation and multi-dimensional stereochemical analysis, this study discloses the stereoinduction mechanism of asymmetric synthesis of unnatural amino acids catalyzed by Cu/Pd and Cu/Lr, explores the potential sources and structural basis of popularity and superiority of Methylene ylide, which provides methods and thoughts for the stereochemical analysis of the complex synergistic dual-chiral catalytic system.

The corresponding author is Dang Yanfeng from the School of Science, Tianjin University, and Prof K.N.Houk from UCLA. The lead author is Li Bo, an undergraduate of Applied Chemistry, Grade 2017. Tianjin University is the first communication unit. Under Dang Yanfeng’s guidance, Li Bo also published an academic paper as lead author inACS Catalysis(2021, 11, 6816-6824, and published an academic paper inChemical Science(2022, 13, 4801-4812)as the co-first author.
