During this summer vacation, the School of Science together with Nanyang Technological University in Singapore jointly initiated a summer project and provided international summer courses to TJU students. The courses mainly consist of thematic reports and online campus and laboratory visits.
On August 3, Professor Chen Xiaodong from NTU gave an online keynote lecture about his research topic, the electronic skin. Professor Fan Hongjin, Professor Xing Bengang and Assistant Professor Liu Zheng also gave academic presentations.
Later, postdoctoral student Wangcong and her coworkers in NTU showed their laboratory via live broadcast.
In the afternoon, Professor Chen Peng introduced the research on transdermal therapy. Students learned about various applications of microneedles and their advantages.
Professor Yan Qingyu and Assistant Professors Yu Jing and Li Shuzhou introduced bionic materials, numerical simulation of physical science, electrochemical nitrogen fixation, etc. Among them, Professor Yan Qingyu introduced numerical simulation technology through TED speech.
From 2018, the School of Science at TJU organized students to carry out scientific research practice in Singapore’s relevant universities .This year, the practice was carried out online because of the pandemic.
