PhD from Niels Bohr Institute, Copenhagen in 1991, followed by positions at UCLA, Niels Bohr Institute, Max Born Institute, Aarhus University, Jyväskylä University and Gothenburg University before taking a chair professorship at Tianjin University in 2016. I have published 200 peer reviewed papers and the monograph 'Statistical Physics of Nanoparticles in the Gas Phase’. Member of the editorial board of International Journal of Mass Spectrometry, the international advisory committee of the Electrostatic Storage Device conference series, the international advisory board of  the 26th European Conference on Few-Body Problems in Physics (Prague 2026), and co-director of several workshops held at the Majorana Centre of Scientific Culture in Erice, Sicily.

研究方向

The focus of my work is finite size effects of thermal and of quantal nature, mainly studied on gas phase clusters and occasionally on large molecules such as fullerenes. The work is experimental with a theoretical flavor. In addition to several Chinese collaborations I have a large group of international collaborations, including groups in Japan, France, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, USA, and Belgium
